I´m Sandra
I’m originally from Peru, of Quechua heritage, with a deep belonging to our Andean community. I was raised with the teachings of community, solidarity, kinship, and the living traditions of my peoples and ancestors.
I earned my Master of Arts in Expressive Arts Therapy and Psychology from the European Graduate School in Switzerland. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) & Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and a Registered Counselling Supervisor (RCS) with ACCT Canada.
My path in this field began with my own migration experience and my work supporting communities and survivors at grassroots, community-based, and social justice organizations in the Vancouver Lower Mainland. I have had the privilege of being mentored by inspiring BIPOC leaders, advocates, and educators working to support communities impacted by trauma, colonization, and systemic oppression.
My approach in therapy is grounded in somatic and embodiment practices, expressive arts therapy, trauma informed approaches, community and social justice, anti-oppressive praxis and Indigenous methodologies.
I believe in the power of connection and alliance as a foundation for safety, dignity, and healing.
I support my clients with genuine care, curiosity, consistency, and creativity.
The arts are an ancient and powerful container for exploring life’s challenges and the unknown. Through the arts, healing, embodied somatic inquiry, and dedicated presence, I believe we can access our inner reservoirs of wisdom that expand our sense of life and justice.
Over the years, I have worked alongside children, youth, adults, elders, families, and communities. My practice is primarily dedicated to BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ folks.

Testimony from Counsellor supporting Survivors of Sexualized Violence:
“Sandra's supervision is perceptive, thorough, and nuanced- it’s greatly appreciated and really helps us feel supported.”.
Testimony from Program Manager and Leader:
“Having Sandra as our consultant and clinical supervisor has been incredibly valuable both to our team and to me in my role within the organization. She has helped us review and strengthen the structure and procedures of our community initiatives . Her guidance in case consultation has been crucial. She provides and encourages safe space for one‑on‑one sessions and team support. Thanks to her support, we adjusted our approach to one of our core programs, making it more effective and compassionate while ensuring our team feels supported and cared for. Sandra’s expertise and guidance have made a meaningful impact on our work with the vulnerable community we serve, and I am deeply grateful for her continued.”
Testimony from Program Educator and Advisor in an Education Setting on Sandra’s planning and delivery of workshops to the community they serve:
“It was truly a pleasure to work with Sandra. She has a calm and engaging presence. The space she created was amazing; there was a lack of power difference which fostered intimacy. Participants were comfortable enough to be themselves, they were not being told to do this or that. They were invited to explore things as they showed up for them. And I think her flexible approach facilitated this exploration. I learned a lot! Thank you Sandra.”
